About Hinnant Dreams and Promises
Who We Are
Hinnant's Dreams and Promises is a women-led, women-focused, faith-inspired, multi-racial, multi–cultural agency that works together to assist other women in addressing socioeconomic conditions. We are currently focused on supporting the aspirations of women who live in Tier 1 Counties in Eastern North Carolina and have limited access to resources. It is our PROMISE that our way of working together will inspire political actions, increase access to additional resources for our counties, and create jobs and opportunities for a forgotten group of citizens. Our work will support the hopes of women who dare to dream in the face of dire socioeconomic conditions.
Our History
Founded in 2014, Hinnant Dreams and Promises has been serving our communities for over 9 years. Our organization was established to address the growing need for assistance for women facing financial, medical, or social challenges while mentoring and training young girls known as Young Pearls.
Our Programs
We offer a variety of programs and services to meet the needs of our community, including financial counseling, strategies for healthy living, domestic violence support, job training, and transitional housing. Our goal is to empower individuals and families to become self-sufficient and thrive with the following programs: Helping Hand Plus (Domestic Violence Support); Hunger Relief (Pantry/Kitchen); Promised Reader (Youth Reading Program); Annual Women's Conference; and Promised Holistic Counseling.
